Vintage biomorphic studio pottery lamp defined by its organic, asymmetrical “pinched” or dimpled stoneware form with the original shade (ca. 1960s, USA).
Matte burgundy glaze is contrasted by a white drip/sponged splatter pattern, adding a textural element to an already unique form.
Patinated copper stem with decorative finial and dual sockets support the original plaid shade.
Good, vintage condition with wear consistent with age/use (tarnish/patina to copper elements, minor losses/fraying to shade).
Ceramic is in excellent, vintage condition, and sockets, wiring, and on/off pull strings have all been replaced.
Reminiscent of designs by Paul Hanson and Marianna von Allesch, but unsigned.
