Vintage Elfi Stadler for Schramberg Faience Ceramic Lidded Jar / Canister / Box
$225.00
Vintage West German faience/ceramic box with walnut lid designed by Elfi Stadler for Schramberg (ca. 1950s).
In 1953, Moritz Meyer, the head of Schramberg, hired Salzbug native and University of Applied Arts (Vienna) graduate, Elfi Stadler, who remained in their employ until 1963.
This box is indicative of the original design perspective Stadler brought to Schramberg, incorporating abstract patterns and uncommon, bold color combinations to create unique conversation pieces.
Very good, vintage condition with a small uneven spot/fleck to the interior rim (not visible from the exterior) along with a couple of dings to the walnut pull on the lid.
Stamped signature present to the reverse.
