Vintage Italian Modernist Low Walnut Lounge Chair Attributed to Paolo Buffa

Low sculptural lounge/arm chair attributed to Paolo Buffa (Italy, ca. 1940s)
Spindle-back-form with elegantly curved arms above x-form slats, all supported by moderately angled feet.
Retains the original pink cotton upholstery and all original metal-spring construction.
Light wear to the feather filled cushions (spotting/sagging). Reupholstery and or foam replacement is recommended and will also increase the seat height — redone, the seat cushions are often very thick (6-8 inches) to compensate for a low frame.
Newly, conservatively refinished; wear remains as shown (scuffs/spots/general, patina).
Sourced in Rome, Italy as Paolo Buffa; unmarked (hence the formal attribution).
Luxurious chair structurally sound with attractive patina that blends well with a variety of decorating styles – Deco, Modernist, Arts and Crafts, Country Farmhouse, etc.
