Pair of Vintage French Leather ‘Mustache’ Club Chairs

Circa 1930s French club chairs with ‘mustache’ backs, originally sold as ‘his and hers,’ given the slight aesthetic and proportional differences (the chair with the seamed arms is slightly smaller, the leather differs in color, and the stud or nailhead decoration, although identical in pattern on the back, varies from chair to chair). Regardless of the differences, they function well as a pair and are being presented together.
Beautiful patina and moderate wear consistent with age or use, as shown. Velvet cushions are in good, vintage shape with slight sagging present. There are some tears to the leather (mostly near the feet, as shown), some soiling to the back cushion of the smaller chair, heavy arm wear or peeling in places, and general wear throughout. The leather is perfectly aged, and the chairs show well, void of any structural issues.

Measures: Chair with seams, slightly smaller H 32″ x SH 15.25″ x SW 20″ x SD 22.5″ x W 34.5″ x D 33″ x AH 23″
Chair without, slightly larger H 34″ x SH 16″ x SW 20″ x SD 23″ x W 35″ x D 34″ x AH 23.5″.
