Rare Brass and Glass Table Lamp by Raymond Loewy for Stiffel, Model #9659

This extremely rare table lamp was designed by Raymond Loewy for Stiffel in 1957. This model (#9659) is only present in the 1957 Stiffel catalog and is therefore believed to have been in production for that year alone. It is composed of a rosewood veneer / brass-lined base, solid polished brass stem, cased glass shade, and oversized grass-cloth shade. There is some wear to the outer shade, but it sits high on the glass and cannot be easily seen when the lamp is assembled. There is also minor wear to the base, as pictured. The diameter of the shade is: 30″ The diameter of the base is: 11″.
