This whimsical carved wooden ‘dumbell’ shows nice age / patina to the original black paint. There are splatters of red and white paint, too, which break up the monotony of the black. The piece weights about 1 lb, which adds a comical element, as it appears to be a weighty dumbell. The ‘plug’ is only present on one side of the dumbell; it is missing from the other. There are some indentations to the piece, typical for a wooden folk art object of its age.
