1973 John Ffrench Ceramic Vase

This ceramic vase by the notable Irish ceramicist, John Ffrench, is a more crude / primitive example of Ffrench’s work composed of a lava-drip glaze in turquoise and brown against a taupe background. Ffrench was the artist credited for introducing color to Irish ceramics in the 1950s, so even with his most neutral works, a pop of color (in this case turquoise) is introduced. Signed and dated.
